The Head of the Medusa — Chapter 14: Men must fight back or perish; of cowardness and courage

14

Perseus arrived at the cave of the Graeae.  Invisible, thanks to his magic helmet, he stole the eye as it was passed between the sisters and told them he would only give it back to them if they would reveal to him the exact location of the Medusa’s lair.

The blind sisters are certainly with us and they clearly have been seeing things from a very limited and singular perspective. It’s clear also that they do possess the information that we seek. They know full well where the Medusa lives. She lives within their own hearts and minds.

What is happening to us now is not equality by any stretch of the imagination. Even when men are being sacrificed in colossal numbers and on an international scale we are still being constantly told it is not enough. The Goddess still cries out for more and more blood. Can she ever have enough blood – even when every human male lies drained at her feet will she then be satisfied? To answer this we must, as free men and women, have the courage to ask ourselves these three questions:
  1. If there had been millions of young girls slaughtered in warfare throughout history would we not think this inhuman?
  2. If we were taught the truth that there has been a matriarchal monster subjugating us all for millennia, would this be acceptable?
  3. If there were worldwide organizations, leading our governments, driven by an insane ideology that promoted women as the evil oppressors of humanity, would we not find this intolerable?
No sane human being could fail to answer "Yes!" to these questions, but what would the answers be if the genders were reversed? I would suggest that the following would be the most widely given answers:

Answer 1. – No, this is the way of things, it is unpleasant, but perfectly natural.

Answer 2. - No, this is not acceptable. Patriarchy is unjust, unfair and an abomination.

Answer 3. – No, it is true that men have been the oppressors.

Do these questions and their answers in turn answer a far more profound question about ourselves and our perceptions of power in human society?

The triple Goddess appears again and again throughout history among us, her appetite for blood unquenched. Safe behind the mask she flourishes still, sustained by bathing in oceans of blood like some Transylvanian vampire queen. Only in our mythology can she be glimpsed behind the mask in her full horror. We must have the courage to identify her and locate her, today, in our present time. Then we must drive a stake through the heart of this undead monster once and for all.

For those who think this an outrageous proposition, be aware that only the truly heroic would assert such a thing. It is indeed monstrous to suggest that women as a gender are capable of this evil, but why? For the last thirty years or so, since the triple development, it has been perfectly acceptable to say exactly the same thing about men.
  • Did this require courage?
  • Were there howls of indignation?
  • Did the very mention or suggestion of such a thing evoke outrage, revulsion and disgust?
It did not then, so why should it do so now? Are we not saying exactly the same thing, but with righteous justification?

When men are demonized and personified as evil it is perfectly acceptable. If we ask ourselves why, we can see that this is because of the crushing power that the Goddess has over us all – men and women. To think this unthinkable thought is truly blasphemous in every sense of the word. For we are speaking unholy words and defiling the sanctity of the Goddess. Our very revulsion to the idea of revolt shows us that we are still her cringing, helpless subjects. It will indeed take a unique courage to face up to this terrifying fact. She is infinitely more powerful than we can easily imagine. She is so firmly entrenched in the human psyche that it will take a massive effort of will to remove her. She will have to exorcised from within us all – men and women alike. She will not leave us peacefully. She will have to torn out of us screaming her obscenities like a medieval demon. It will not be pleasant.

We must ask ourselves honestly:
  • Do we wish to be subjects of a blood hungry Goddess from our pre-civilized past, or do we wish to be the custodians of our own destiny?
  • Do we still cling to our primitive ignorance, or can we courageously see ourselves as something more advanced than savages engaged in sinister sacrificial rites, wallowing in blood?
  • Do we wish to put an end to war between nations, between people and between men and women?
Human sacrifice is certainly no way for a modern, civilized society to behave. We have surely outlived the need to indulge in these blood rites. It must stop now. We have to understand for all our sakes – for men and women and for the future of our children - that this barbaric behavior has no place in our present or our future.

We all allow the Medusa to live in us by allowing the Goddess to hold such power over us. We have to kill her within our own hearts and minds if we are to kill her elsewhere. We have to take the sickle and execute this monster forever if we are to go forward. If we do not do this, men and women together, she will kill us all. We have allowed her to dominate us for thousands of years, but now in our time, we have allowed her to become more than a Goddess - we have allowed her human form. She is no longer a myth – thanks to the triple development and the schism that has been created by it she is real and she stalks the living with her stare of death. All that fall under her gaze are turned to stone.

The only devils in the world are those running in our own hearts. That is where the battle should be fought.

— Mahatma Gandhi.

In the myth, Perseus snatched the eye away from the Graeae and they were unable to see until they told him where the Medusa was. Now, we too know where the lair of the Medusa is. It is in the hearts and minds of us all - women and men. Now, we must take the shield of Athena and advance cautiously, remembering to look only at the reflections in its surface. It is not the female of our species that is the enemy – it is the Goddess who lurks behind her. We must grip the sickle that has been given to us tight in our hands – the blade that has been used for sacrifice to the Goddess. We must be prepared to use it against her archetypal form and we must above all be courageous.
  • Is this possible?
  • Do we have the courage for such a task?
  • Can we use these ‘weapons’ effectively?
It is possible.
  • We do possess the courage.
  • We can use the ‘weapons’.
  • We are doing so NOW.
